Nieuws MEDEDELING !!

Omschrijving | “Microcosm” is the new album by
the Italian-French
musician Alex Carpani, one of
the most popular
keyboardist, singer and composer
on the national
progressive rock scene.
The record boasts the
participation of numerous
Italian and foreign special
guests, starting with
Jon Davison, current voice of
YES and interpreter
of "Kiss And Fly", the first
track that
anticipates the album.
Joining Alex Carpani in this new
recording project
are also David Jackson (Van der
Graaf Generator,
Peter Gabriel), David Cross
(King Crimson), Theo
Travis (Soft Machine, Porcupine
Tree, Steven
Wilson), Bruno Farinelli (Elisa
, Il Volo, Cesare
Cremonini, Lucio Dalla), Andrea
Torresani (Vasco
Rossi, Franco Battiato, Tiziano
Ferro), Emiliano
Fantuzzi (Nek, Laura Pausini,
Biagio Antonacci)
and Davide Rinaldi (Dark
Lunacy).
A team of prestigious musicians
for a full-bodied
full length of 12 tracks with a
refined
compositional cut in which the
influences of jazz-
rock and symphonic rock
converge, with refined
arrangements and moments of
great rhythmic
intensity.
Among the songs contained in
"Microcosm" there is
also a personal version of
"Starless" by King
Crimson, the video of which is
already available
on the artist`s YouTube channel.
Man as a representation of the
universe, or rather
as a microcosm, constitutes the
concept of this
new album, where each track is a
frame of real
life that opens up unpredictable
imaginative
horizons.
Like a visionary travel diary,
"Microcosm"
explores that fascinating middle
ground that is
existence, suspended between the
world inside and
the world outside, between
sidereal light and
darkness, between dream and
reality.
"On the CD booklet I wanted to
bring a phrase by
Don Carlo Gnocchi that perfectly
summarizes what I
describe in the album, his
concept:" Every human
being is an unmistakable and
autonomous microcosm
- says Alex Carpani - It`s just
what I wanted to
say; of the fact that we are
small universes and
that each of us spends his
entire existence on a
borderline, the one between his
own universe (the
microcosm) and all the rest that
surrounds and
dominates it (the macrocosm). In
this interaction,
on the edge of this dividing
line, our life takes
place and everything we perceive
of ourselves, of
others, of the rest of the
world, of the cosmos,
of God, of the past-present-
future. However, I did
not want to dwell only on the
philosophical and
theoretical aspect, which is why
I told all this
through 12 songs, 12 stories
that could be flashes
of real life, almost fragments
of everyday life
that contain within them
fragments of eternity .
In short, "Microcosm" is a
kaleidoscope of life, a
colorful and multifaceted
representation of its
unpredictable and inscrutable
magic. "
