Door de Brexit komen titels die uit de UK afkomstig zijn nog altijd
met vertraging binnen. Soms valt het mee en duurt het slechts 2-3
weken, maar het komt helaas ook voor dat we 4 weken of meer moeten
wachten. We doen ons best om alles zo goed en snel mogelijk te
regelen, maar het blijft lastig...

| Omschrijving | Band born in 2007, has only one album to its
credit, `Gemini` (Andromeda Relix), year of
publication 2011. After nine years they finally
return to the scene with 36 minutes of pure
amazement: Luminance (title of the last work)
already it contains all the power, measured in
terms of energy and power of course… we ask
ourselves: where have they been so far ??? Italian
heirs of the well-known Fates warning, Dream
Theater and Queensr˙che, FARO follow in the
footsteps of the `prog metal` trend, that graft of
progressive and metal that was born and developed
mainly within the US heavy / power scene around
the
mid-1980s. With Luminance, however, the band was
able to add absolutely new and personal nuances to
the genre, also through a beautiful vocal and
perfect rhythmic scores. Praise therefore to the
very Italian band made up of excellent musicians:
Rocco de Simone on vocals, Fabrizio Blasco (guest
on guitars and other instruments and the multi-
instrumentalist Angelo Troiano (bass guitar and
keyboard programs) of truly incomparable skill.
All
the work is original, graceful, elegant. The
sudden
and unexpected accelerations blend perfectly with
the context and the way of attacking each piece
makes the band very recognizable and unique. In
reality, to a superficial listening, it might seem
that they do not do anything so exceptional, but
it
is enough to pay a little attention to realize
that
instead they have a great ability: to make simple
parts that are actually quite complex. Luminance
is
an album that is sure to please ... The prog /
metal `hard core` will also like it: pieces such
as
Pure (first title on the track list) closely
resemble the group of Petrucci and Portnoy as the
beautiful Down, one of the masterpieces that will
certainly not make overseas cousins regret it.
Fragment, on the other hand, offers sounds closer
to the progressive genre, thanks also to the use
of
softer guitar and sung, albeit not at all dull and
nostalgic of the past ... there are other pieces
(for example Lucas) that literally kidnap the
listener, listen after listen ... A treasure to
hold tight to that of the FARO, a splendid
surprise, an invigorating cascade of fresh water. |
