|Omschrijving||The band has the dark English name The Black Fall
(like Black Autumn). It is probably right to
suspect they play dark music. Dark are probably the
lyrics at The Black Fall, even if you can not go
into detail because of the lack of a CD booklet.
After all, the music lover gets a digipak with the
visually appealing dystopian artwork.
On the textual level, current social developments
are critically addressed. The criticism of these
states goes so far as to be confronted with the
question "Will you join to watch the world burn?".
The music of the Dutch on their second work "Clear
Perception" seems to be characterized by a certain
ease, the sense of catchy vocal melodies as well as
by unusual and diverse style mixtures. The pieces
are full of surprising twists, contrasts and
developments. There is post-rocky, guitar-heavy
melancholy next to the epic Artrock and the
Progmetal riffs ("Mother"), the chord sequences
based on Mathrock and Avant-Prog right next to
balladesque-dreamy themes ("Far from Home"), and
humorous vaudeville pop music. Rock alongside Doom
Metal descents and an outro for acoustic guitar
("Illness"), Psychedelic Krautrockiges with vocal
melodies to the acoustic guitars and ethnic
percussion ("Healing me") as well as a driving
fusion of postrock and hardrock ("Waves"). "The
Hollow", the final track of about 15 minutes
duration, offers an equally varied soundscape,
consisting of the versatile Artrock between sedate,
atmospherical and rocking, the spirited outgoing
hardrock incidents, the Djent interjections and the
fragile moments with the acoustic guitars in a
decisive role. The Black Fall`s "Clear Perception"
is an amazingly fresh and creative progrock record.
